This DisplayPort Active Optical Cable (AOC) extends 4K UHD DisplayPort signals in classrooms, conference rooms, healthcare facilities, digital signage and other commercial environments requiring high-performance audio/video connectivity at longer distances up to 8 metres.
Utilising AOC technology that performs similar to traditional copper cabling, the optical fibre construction between the connectors provides optimum performance and easy installation. Advantages of AOC technologies include a smaller cable diameter than copper, resulting in greater flexibility and an easier installation in tight spaces. Constructed from fibre strands, this cable reduces the risk of EMI/RFI so performance is stable when used in typically high interference environments such as data centres, surgical theatres, or manufacturing facilities where high resolution and consistent display are critical.
The AOC draws power from the DisplayPort source device, so no external power source is required. Additionally, this cable is hot swappable and offers plug and play installation.
